Alex started tattooing in January 2011—completely self-taught at first, driven by a deep desire to learn everything HE could about the craft and make tattooing His life’s work. He found his way into tattooing through small street shops, slowly working HIS way up to respected studios like Magnum Tattoo and later Fish Ladder Tattoo in Lansing. Along the way, He traveled often, working conventions across the country and guest spotting at shops to keep pushing himself and expanding his skill set.

Over the years, he’s tried just about every style in an effort to understand the many approaches that make tattooing so dynamic. Different styles require different techniques, and Alex has always believed in putting in the work to understand them. Through trial, error, and constant learning, He’s found his foundation in tattoos rooted in American and Japanese traditional, along with ornamental influences from around the world.

Alex aims to create tattoos that stand the test of time: bold, readable designs with strong lines, solid color, and black shading that keep their shape and clarity as they age. Whether it’s a large-scale piece or something smaller, Alex is always focused on making a tattoo that’s unique to the wearer and built to last a lifetime.
